Telephone Cradle Connection Components Retrofit
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE
CONDITION SUMMARY:
TELEPHONE CRADLE PREPARATION OMITTED IN PRODUCTION
Cause:
A build sequence error resulted in the vehicles listed in the Affected Vehicle Range being built without the specified center console telephone cradle connection components installed.
Action:
Vehicles listed in the VIN list should have the telephone cradle connection components installed at the next available opportunity following the procedure described in the Repair Procedure section of this bulletin.

DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.
NOTE:
Claims must be submitted using the appropriate shortage code.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
INSTALL NEW COOL BOX WITH TELEPHONE COMPONENTS
NOTE:
GTR lookup sequence is as follows:
GTR Home>NAS>Service Information/LS Range Rover Sport/2006>Workshop Manual>Range Rover Sport 2005 Workshop Manual>Bookmark "Electrical/Battery and Charging System"> Link "414-00 General Information Specifications / Specifications".
1. Refer to GTR Workshop Manual Section 414-00 and disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the floor console upper panel.
3. Remove the floor console lid as follows: (Figure 1)
^ Open the lid.
^ Remove the two Torx bolts.
^ Remove the two hinge covers.
4. Remove the floor console cool box as follows: (Figure 2)
^ Remove the two Torx screws.
^ Disconnect the electrical connector.
5. Remove the floor console lid upper cover: (Figure 3)
^ Remove the two rubber buffers.
^ Remove the eight Torx bolts.
NOTE:
There are numerous bosses on the rear face of the lid. Four of these are in the correct location for the phone bracket fasteners. (Arrowed in Figure 4)
6. Determine the correct boss location to drill and drill four 3 mm (0.120 in) holes in the console lid lower section as shown. (Figures 4 and 5)
7. Install the console lid upper cover as follows: (Figure 5)
^ Install the eight bolts.
^ Install the two rubber buffers.
8. Install the cellular phone cradle docking station (FHC500240PVJ) to the console lid using the four Torx screws (FYP500260). (Figure 6)
9. Position, but do not fully install the console lid, and connect the two electrical connectors. (Arrowed in Figure 7)
10. Install the new floor console cool box (FJB500330PVJ) as follows:
^ Connect the coolbox electrical connector.
^ Locate the phone wiring through the slot in the rear of the cool box.
^ Tighten the coolbox retaining screws.
^ Secure the phone wiring retaining trim. (Figure 8)
11. Install the floor console lid as follows:
^ Install the hinge covers.
^ Tighten the Torx bolts to 3 Nm (24 lbf in).
12. Install the floor console upper panel.
13. Connect the battery ground cable.
