CONDITION SUMMARY:

INSPECT AND IF INDICATED REPLACE THE LEFT HAND SECOND ROW SEAT BELT BUCKLE

Situation:

Land Rover has decided that a condition that impacts occupant safety can exist is some specific Range Rover Sport vehicles. The affected vehicles may have been manufactured with a left hand second row rear seat belt buckle that does not meet engineering specification.

NOTE:
Many vehicles have been repaired by Land Rover at the factory and at the Ports. Verify using DDW that the vehicle subject to this Recall action prior to making any repairs.

Action:

Inspect the left hand second row seat belt buckle and replace it if indicated by the inspection process. Refer to the Repair Procedure section of this bulletin.

WARRANTY

NOTE:
Always refer to DDW to verify vehicle eligibility for this Service Campaign and to determine if the vehicle is affected by any other Service Actions.

Warranty claims should be submitted quoting program code B021 together with the appropriate option code. As option codes are used, there is no requirement to enter parts or labor. They are provided for information only.

Drive in/drive out can only be claimed if the vehicle is brought back into the workshop for this action alone to be undertaken.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

INSPECT AND IF INDICATED REPLACE SEAT BELT LATCH

1. Open left hand rear door.





2. Identify the left hand rear second row seat belt buckle. (Circled in Figure 1)

3. Fold the seat cushion forward.





4. Inspect the serial number stamped on the buckle. (Figure 2)

5. Determine if the serial number is either "05 02 02" or "05 03 02."

6. If the serial number is any other than 05 02 02 or 05 03 02, no further action is required.

7. If the serial number is 05 02 02 or 05 03 02, refer to GTR Section 76.73.60 and replace the seat belt buckle with a new component (EVL500750PMA). (Figure 3)

8. Return the seat cushion to its normal position.

9. Close the left hand rear door.
