Parking Distance System Intermittent Operation
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Range Rover Sport (LS) VIN: 6A900109 to 6A909166
CONDITION SUMMARY:
INTERMITTENT PDC OPERATION
A customer may report a concern that the parking distance control system (PDC) does not operate every time when reversing.
Cause:
The PDC system was configured to receive both "vehicle stationary" and "electronic parking brake" (EPB) signals together to activate the system. In production the system has been changed so that the "vehicle stationary" signal is ignored and EPB "drive away" signal activates the system.
Action:
If a customer complains of the intermiffent condition, refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin to replace the PDC module with the latest configuration.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
REPLACE PDC CONTROL UNIT
NOTE:
GTR lookup sequence is as follows:

1. Refer to LR3 Workshop Manual Section 414-00 and disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Refer to LR3 Workshop Manual Section 501-05 and remove the left side rear quarter trim panel.
3. Remove the parking aid module as follows:
(Figures 1 and 2)
^ Remove the two retaining screws.
^ Disconnect the three electrical connectors.
4. Replace the parking aid module with a new unit as follows:
^ Connect and secure the electrical connectors to the new unit
^ Tighten the retaining screws.
5. Refer to LR3 Workshop Manual Section 414-00 and install the left side rear quarter trim panel.
6. Refer to LR3 Workshop Manual Section 501-05 and connect the battery ground cable.
