Heated and Cooled Front Seat Backrest Fan Failure / Noisy - Repair Procedure





AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

When operating the heated and cooled front seat, a noise may be heard or the fan may not operate. The noise or failure may be caused by the sprung seat mat making contact with the seat fan when the seat is occupied.

Action:

In the event of a customer concern of the above, follow the Repair Procedure outlined below to replace the effected front seat backrest heater and blower assembly.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

INSTALL A NEW FRONT SEAT BACKREST HEATER AND BLOWER ASSEMBLY

NOTE:
Global Technical Reference (GTR) lookup sequence is as follows: GTR Home > NAS > LM - New Rover > Service Information > Model Year > Workshop Manual > 5: Body and Paint > 501: Body and Paint > 501-10: Seating

1. Refer to Workshop Manual (GTR) Section 501-10: Seating to replace the Front Seat Backrest Heater and Blower Assembly.





2. Verify a gap of 5-10 mm (0.20 - 0.40 in) between the seat mat wire and the seat fan. (Figure 1)
