Navigation Screen Starts Up / Shuts Down After Entering the Vehicle - Repair Procedure
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Range Rover (LM) VIN: 7A239063 - 8A263635
Model Year: 2007 - 2008
CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
Upon entering the vehicle, the Navigation (High Level Display Front [HLDF]) screen may cycle on / off approximately every 30-45 seconds; the Audio system will boot-up as normal after the ignition is turned 'on'; and the Navigation / Audio systems may perform the following:
1. Audio system sound cuts out.
2. Navigation screen audio source icons 'gray' out.
3. Orange LED lamp on the HLDF flashes.
4. Navigation screen defaults to the audio 'off' screen.
5. The system will then reset to either:
^ The Land Rover Logo screen, or
^ The audio 'off' screen
6. System begins the cycle (1-5) above again.
NOTE:
If the customer concern is not listed above, refer to GTR for diagnostic assistance.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, follow the Repair Procedure outlined in this bulletin below.

RECONFIGURE THE AUDIO FRONT CONTROL MODULE
CAUTION:
A Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during diagnosis.
1. Connect the Midtronics PSC-550 power supply to the vehicle battery.
NOTE:
IDS must be loaded with software release DVD 111 with Patch File 1 or later.
2. Connect the IDS to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session by entering the correct VIN for the current vehicle.
3. Follow the IDS prompts to read the vehicle configuration.
4. Select 'No' when prompted 'Do you wish to read diagnostic trouble codes?'
5. Select 'tick' to continue.
6. Select the 'Vehicle Configuration' tab when Content Model is displayed.
7. From the Vehicle Configuration menu, configure the 'Audio front control module' by selecting from the drop-down menu:
'Module programming' > 'Configure existing module' > 'Audio front control module'
8. Select 'tick' to continue, following all on-screen instructions to complete this task.
^ IDS will return to the Vehicle Configuration menu when completed.
9. Exit the current session.
10. Disconnect IDS and the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply from the vehicle.
