Service Repair No - 12.53.13

Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the transmission.

4. CAUTION: Do NOT use the special tool 303-645, to prevent the flexplate from rotating.

NOTE: Prevent the flexplate from rotating

Remove the torque converter flexplate.
^ Remove the 8 bolts.





Installation

1. NOTE: Prevent the flexplate from rotating

Install the torque converter flexplate.
^ Clean the component mating faces.
^ Tighten the bolts evenly in 2 stages to the sequence shown.
^ Tighten the bolts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs).
^ Tighten the bolts to 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs).





2. Install the transmission.
3. Connect the battery ground cable.
