Special Service Tools
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the cooling fan shroud.
3. Disconnect the cooling fan control electrical connector.
4. NOTE: The thread is right handed.
Using the special tools, remove the cooling fan.
^ Remove the cooling fan assembly.
5. NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
Remove the viscous coupling from the cooling fan.
^ Remove the 4 bolts.
Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Install the cooling fan to the viscous coupling, tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the cooling fan assembly to 65 Nm (48 ft. lbs.).
