Entertainment System - High Line - Harman Kardon
Entertainment System - High Line - Harman Kardon
DESCRIPTION
Introduction
The high line audio system is based around an Integrated Head Unit (IHU) which communicates with other components in the system via the Media Orientated System Transport (MOST) ring.
CAUTION: The MOST ring is a high speed fibre optic system, requiring special attention if repairs are to be carried out.
Two levels of high line audio system are available; Harman Kardon, and Harman Kardon Logic 7.
OPERATION
Power Distribution
Feed from the positive battery terminal (C0192) is supplied to fusible link 18E (C0632) on an R wire. Fusible link 18E is located in the Battery Junction Box (BJB) (C0570) and is connected to the following on an NS wire:
^ Fuse 42P
^ Fuse 52P
^ Fuse 53P
^ Infotainment relay.
All are located in the Central Junction Box (CJB) (C0583).
Fuse 42P (C0582) provides a constant battery feed to the power amplifier (C2414) on an R wire. Fuse 52P (C0582) provides a constant battery feed to the voice recognition module (C2777) and the Traffic Message Channel (TMC) receiver (C2157) on R wires. Fuse 53P (C0582) provides a constant battery feed to the Integrated Head Unit (IHU) (C1354), the touch screen display (C2819), and the navigation computer (C2114) on PU wires.
Infotainment Relay
The infotainment relay is located in the CJB (C0582) and is controlled by the IHU (C1354) on an RU wire. When energised, the infotainment relay provides a feed to fuse 56P which is also located in the CJB. Fuse 56P (C0582) provides a feed to the following on U wires:
^ Touch screen display (C2819)
^ Vehicle Information and Communication System (VICS) receiver (C1453)
NOTE: VICS is only fitted to Japanese specification vehicles.
^ Navigation computer (C2114)
^ TV tuner (C2117)
^ Voice recognition module (C2777)
^ Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service (SDARS) module (C2158)
NOTE: SDARS is only fitted to North American Specification (NAS) vehicles.
^ TMC/VICS antenna amplifier (C2837).
Speakers
Two different speaker systems are available, Harman Kardon and Harman Kardon Logic 7.
NOTE: For ease of use, the high line circuit diagram shows both the Harman Kardon and Harman Kardon Logic 7 power amplifiers on the same circuit.
Headphone Sockets
Two headphone sockets are fitted for use by occupants of the third row seats.
Harman Kardon
The headphone sockets (RH = C0795, LH = C0796) are connected to the power amplifier (C0492 and C0493 respectively) as follows:
^ A RH audio positive signal is provided by the amplifier on a YU wire.
^ A LH audio positive signal is provided by the amplifier on a YG wire.
^ A RH and LH audio negative signal is provided by the amplifier on a YS wire.
^ A Radio Frequency (RF) receiver power supply is provided by the amplifier on a YB wire.
^ An RF receiver ground is provided by the amplifier on a YK wire.
Harman Kardon Logic 7(TM)
The headphone sockets (C2357) are connected to the power amplifier (RH = C0492, LH = C0493) as follows:
^ A RH audio positive signal is provided by the amplifier on a YU wire.
^ A LH audio positive signal is provided by the amplifier on a YG wire.
^ A RH and LH audio negative signal is provided by the amplifier on a YS wire.
^ A Radio Frequency (RF) receiver power supply is provided by the amplifier on a YB wire.
^ An RF receiver ground is provided by the amplifier on a YK wire.
Remote Audio Controls
The IHU (C1354) provides a feed to the remote audio controls (C2283) via the clock spring (C0082) on an SR wire. The remote audio controls contain a number of normally open switches and resistors. When the controls are used, one of the switches closes and a voltage is returned to the IHU (C1354) on an SB wire. By measuring the returned voltage the IHU determines which function has been requested.
Lighting Control Switch
When the lighting control switch (C0041) is turned to the side lamp position (position 1) current flows across the switch to the IHU (C1354) on an RN wire. When the IHU receives this feed it dims its display.
The lighting control switch also provides a feed to the touch screen display (C2819) and the Audio Video Input (AVI) panel (C2831) on RN wires. The units use these feeds for back light illumination.
