OPERATION
Power Distribution
Feed from the positive battery terminal (C0192) is supplied to fusible link 11E (C0632) on an R wire. Fusible link 11E is located in the Battery Junction Box (BJB) (C0570) and is connected to the ignition switch (C0028) by an N wire.
When the ignition switch is in the 'ignition' position, current flows across the switch (C0028) to fuse 24P (C0582) on a Y wire. Fuse 28P (C0583) is located in the Central Junction Box (CJB) and provides an ignition feed to the rotary Terrain Response switch (C0700) on an R wire. The switch is provided a ground path on a B wire.
CAN Bus
Commands from the Terrain Response switch (C0700) are communicated to the following components via the high speed CAN bus on YN (high) and YB (low) wires:
^ Rear differential control module (C2162)
^ Parking brake module (C2178)
^ Air suspension control module (C0867)
^ Engine Control Module (ECM) (C0872 on TdV6 vehicles, C0635 on V6 and V8 petrol vehicles)
^ Transfer box control module (C1854)
^ Transmission Control Module (TCM) (C0193)
^ ABS module (C0506)
NOTE: The parking brake module is not part of the Terrain Response system. It is merely used as a CAN bus gateway to enable communication with the air suspension control module.
Instrument Cluster
If a high line instrument cluster is fitted, the Terrain Response mode will be displayed in the message center. The Terrain Response (TM) switch (C0700) communicates with the instrument cluster (C0230) via the high speed CAN bus on YN (high) and YB (low) wires.
