1. Verify the customer concern.

^ Fuses Central and battery junction boxes
^ Megafuses
^ Wiring harness
^ Damaged, loose or corroded connectors
^ Controller area network (CAN) circuits
^ Instrument cluster
^ Central junction box (CJB)
^ Engine control module (ECM)
4. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
5. Use the approved diagnostic system or a scan tool to retrieve any DTCs before moving onto the DTC index.
^ Make sure that all DTCs are cleared the rectification.
