REPAIR PROCEDURE
INSTALL HEADLINING CLIPS TO REAR OF HEADLINING
1. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-05: Interior Trim and Ornamentation, and remove both E-post trim finishers.
CAUTION:
Ensure damage is not caused to the headlining. Excess force on underside of roof lining could crease the Roof lining.
2. Lower and support the rear of the headlining and support.
3. Identify the holes in roof where the two clips are to be fitted. (Figure 1)
NOTE:
Left-hand (LH) side shown; repeat for right-hand (RH) side.
4. Insert the new roof retaining clips. (Figure 2)
NOTE:
Repeat this procedure for both sides of the vehicle.
5. Slide the white T-piece clip into the roof lining bracket: (Figure 3)
^ Locate clip approximately in the center of the headlining bracket.
WARNING:
Use suitable protective gloves and safety goggles.
6. Apply super glue (recommenced STC50546) to new roof lining bracket back surface. (Figure 4)
NOTE:
Do not remove any of the super glue when installing the roof clips. Repeat this process on both sides of the vehicle.
7. Insert the new assembled headlining brackets / T-piece clips into the roof clips that are already fitted. (Figure 5)
CAUTION:
Use care to not get any excess glue on any other trim parts as this would be extremely difficult to remove and could result in replacement trim parts being fitted at the retailer's expense.
NOTE:
Note the order of the clips to be inserted.
NOTE:
"Lipping" the rear tailgate aperture seal over the headlining will remove unwanted pressure.
8. Locate original center clip (1) into position. (Figure 6)
9. Locate RH and LH clips (2) and (3) into position. (Figure 6)
10. Lift and support the roof trim until glue has set. (Figure 6)
11. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-05: Interior Trim and Ornamentation, and install both E-post trim finishers.
