Upper Windshield Finisher Loose





AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

The windshield finisher may be loose or a wind noise may be evident. This may be caused by body tolerances in relation to the upper windshield finisher profile.

Action:

In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to inspect and either refit or replace the upper windshield finisher.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

INSPECT AND REFIT / REPLACE UPPER WINDSHIELD FINISHER





1. Inspect the upper windshield finisher for looseness and damage: (Figure 1)

^ If the finisher has no damage but is loose, continue to step 2.

^ If the finisher is damaged and loose, remove and replace the finisher; continue to step 3.

2. Remove the loose and undamaged upper windshield finisher:

^ Completely clean the finisher.

NOTE:
Ensure the upper windshield finisher and windshield is free from dirt and is completely dry.





3. Apply suitable sealer along the full length of the windshield finisher 'U' section. (Figure 2)

4. Install the upper windshield finisher, ensuring it is located properly.





5. Using a suitable solvent and cloth, remove any excess sealer. (Figure 3)
