Service Action: Console Cup Holder Slider Adrift
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Range Rover Sport (LS) VIN: BA264726 - BA278804
Model Year: 2011
CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
The console cup holder sliders may experience poor performance during normal use. This may be caused by the rear slats of the sliders becoming adrift, causing the slider to jam.
Action:
Retailers are required to HOLD all affected vehicles in the above VIN range that are in their control and refrain from releasing the vehicles for new or used vehicle sale pending completion of the rework action detailed in this Technical Bulletin. Affected vehicles in the hands of owners should be repaired at the next available opportunity. At the time of customer appointment, ensure that all outstanding service campaigns for each individual vehicle are identified and allocate sufficient time and resources to complete all campaigns.

Warranty claims should be submitted quoting the Program Code Q127 together with the relevant Option Code; this will result in payment of the stated time. As Option Codes are used, there is no requirement to enter SRO information; these are displayed for information only. The option that allows for drive in / drive out may only be claimed if the vehicle is brought back into the workshop for this action alone to be undertaken. This Service Action is valid for a limited time only and will expire on 30 April 2013. All Warranty claims up to this date must be submitted for payment within 30 days of completion of the repair.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
REPLACE CONSOLE CUP HOLDER
1. Remove the gear selector lever: (Figure 1) Release the four clips.
2. Remove the trim panel: (Figure 2) Carefully release the four clips.
3. Remove the two screws. (Figure 3)
4. Open the lid. (Figure 4)
5. Release the floor console upper trim panel: (Figure 5)
^ Carefully release the six clips.
6. Remove the floor console upper trim panel: (Figure 6)
^ Disconnect the two electrical connectors.
7. Release the wiring harness: (Figure 7)
^ Disconnect the two electrical connectors.
^ Release the fir tree clip.
8. Release the electrical connector mounting bracket: (Figure 8)
^ Release the three clips.
9. Remove the three clips. (Figure 9)
10. Remove the two screws. (Figure 10)
11. Remove the two screws. (Figure 11)
12. Remove the cup holder assembly: (Figure 12)
^ Release the three clips.
13. Install the cup holder assembly: (Figure 13)
^ Secure the three clips.
14. Tighten the three screws: (Figure 14)
15. Tighten the two screws. (Figure 15)
16. Install the two clips. (Figure 16)
17. Secure the electrical connector mounting bracket: (Figure 17)
^ Secure the three clips.
18. Secure the wiring harness: (Figure 18)
^ Connect the two electrical connectors.
^ Secure the fir tree clip.
19. Install the floor console upper trim panel: (Figure 19)
^ Connect the two electrical connectors.
20. Secure the floor console upper trim panel: (Figure 20)
^ Secure the six clips.
21. Tighten the two screws. (Figure 21)
22. Install the trim panel: (Figure 22)
^ Secure the four clips.
23. Install the gear selector lever: (Figure 23)
^ Secure the four clips.
