Liftgate
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal
CAUTION: The headliner must be lowered as a complete unit to gain access to the electrical connections. Partial lowering of the headliner may cause damage.
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1 Support the liftgate in the open position.
CAUTION: Use a suitable sharp pointed hook, release the retaining clip (do not fully remove the clip).
CAUTION: Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.
CAUTION: Protect the surrounding components.
NOTE:
The step must be carried out on both sides.
NOTE:
Note the orientation of the clip.
CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the wiring harnesses.
CAUTION: Make sure the tailgate harnesses are withdrawn through the body harness apertures when removing the tailgate.
NOTE:
This step requires the aid of another technician.
NOTE:
Note the position of the wiring harnesses to aid installation.
NOTE:
Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

Installation
NOTE:
Make sure that the clips are installed in the correct orientation.
1 To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2 Check the liftgate alignment.
