INSTRUMENT PANEL RATTLE

Some customers may experience rattle noises coming from the center of the instrument panel at the base of the windshield. The following procedure has been developed to improve the condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
2004 model year RX 330 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REQUIRED TOOLS AND MATERIALS:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Follow the precautions and instructions in the 2004 RX 330 Repair Manual on ETAS, Section: Instrument Panel/Meter; Sub-section: Instrument Panel Safety Pad Sub-Assy to remove the dash pad sub-assembly.
2. Pull back the dash pad sub-assembly to expose the defroster nozzle assembly and its 2 locating pins.
3. Apply felt over the pins as shown in the diagram to take up excess slack inside the body holes.

Felt Size:
Length: 40mm
Width: 10mm
Thickness: 0.5mm







4. Reassemble the dash pad sub-assembly.
