PRECAUTION

a. The GPS antenna for the LEXUS link system is installed under the center cluster. Therefore, attaching a metallic film to the windshield or setting any object close to the center cluster prevents the position data from being received properly.
b. If the ignition switch is turned ON while the airbag sensor assy center connector is disconnected, if the vehicle battery is removed while the ignition switch is ON, or if the +B circuit is open within 10 seconds after the ignition switch is turned OFF, the system will determine these conditions as failure and it will automatically call the LEXUS link center.

To prevent this, observe the following when performing work related to the airbag sensor assy center or the battery:
- Disconnect the connectors of the telephone ECU (Mayday ECU) and the portable phone-L battery (back-up battery) before disconnecting the airbag sensor assy center connector.
- Be sure to remove the vehicle battery 10 seconds or more after the ignition switch is OFF.

HINT:
- When an emergency call is made automatically, contact to the LEXUS link center and ask them to disregard the call.
- If no signal has been received from the airbag sensor assy center since the ignition switch was turned ON, a service call will be made.
- If signal reception from the airbag sensor assy center is interrupted while the ignition switch is ON, an emergency call will be made.

c. When the life of the portable phone-L battery (back-up battery) becomes short, the voltage drops and then telephone ECU (Mayday ECU) sets DTC 12-1, perform troubleshooting according to the malfunction indicated by DTC 12-1.
