Monitor Result (Mode $06 Data)

MONITOR RESULT (MODE 06 DATA)

HINT:
- MODE 06 DATA represents monitoring results (Test Data) and thresholds (Test Limit) for each diagnostic item when judging whether a component and system is normal or abnormal.
- Test ID stands for components or systems in each diagnosis.Comp ID is a divisional description for each Test ID.

1. READ MODE 06 DATA (using the hand-held tester)

a. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC 3.
b. Enter "MONITOR RESULT" from "DIAGNOSIS/ENHANCED OBD II/MONITOR INFO/MONITOR RESULT" on the hand-held tester. You will see "Test ID" and "INCMP", "Pass" or "Fail" on the MONITOR RESULT screen.

HINT:
- INCMP: The judgement has not been done yet.
- PASS: Normal is detected.
- FAIL: Malfunction is detected.

c. Select a Test ID that you want from the list and press the "ENTER" button. You will see the following screen:
1. VAL (TEST VALUE) [Test Data] [Unit]
2. LMT (TEST LIMIT) [Test Limit] [Unit]
3. TLT [Test Limit Type]

d. By pressing the "HELP" button, you can see more information.

HINT:
- MODE 06 DATA indicates the latest malfunction judgement result of this diagnostic.
- TEST VALUE indicates the detection parameter value
(Example: P0128 Thermostat Malfunction = Engine coolant temperature) at the time of malfunction (or normal) judgement is done.
- TEST LIMIT indicates a threshold of malfunction judgement (Example: P0128 Thermostat Malfunction = 75 °C).
- By comparing TEST VALUE and TEST LIMIT here, it is possible to know the failure degree. (At normal judgement time, how much leeway is available from MIL ON.)
- If the MIL is ON and the item in the MODE 06 DATA that is applicable to the stored DTC indicates "PASS", the malfunction may be intermittent problem, so that reproducing the problem may be troublesome.
