INTRODUCTION:
Certain 2004 - 2006 model year RX330 (Japan built) and 2006 RX400h vehicles may experience insufficient support from the Back door stays. This condition may be misdiagnosed as an issue with the operation of the power back door motor (if equipped). The Back door stays have been improved to correct this condition.
NOTE:
This TSB is not to be confused with TSB No. 2196, which refers to North American produced RX 330 vehicles.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2004 - 2006 model year RX 330 (Japan built) vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.
- 2006 model year RX 400h vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
Replace back door stay assemblies.
To remove and replace the back door stay assemblies, refer to ETAS:
