INTRODUCTION:
Some 2004 - 2005 model year RX 330 vehicles may experience an A/C button indicator light blinking (inoperative A/C compressor), and/or various combination meter warning lamps illuminated at times (ABS/VSC). An improved engine compartment Junction Block has been developed to correct this condition.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2004 - 2005 model year RX 330 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the Driver's side Junction Block No. 2 engine Fuse Block cover.
3. Remove the 2 bolts.
4. Disconnect the 4 claws and remove the Junction Block cover (see illustration for detail).
The Junction Block has a part label affixed as shown. Verify that the fourth (4th) digit of the upper 8-digit number on the label is a "2" (previous parts would be a "1").
Is the part number check digit identified as "2"?
- Yes - The car is already equipped with countermeasure parts. Perform A/C system diagnostics. Refer to ETAS, 2005 model year RX 330 Repair Manual: Diagnostics: Air Conditioning System: Pre- Check.
- No - Continue to step 5.
5. Disconnect the eight (8) connectors from the Junction Block No. 2.
6. Remove the engine compartment Junction Block.
7. Reassemble the Junction Block, using the NEW countermeasure part, in reverse order.
8. Re-initialize power systems.
- For 2004 model year RX 330 vehicles, refer to TSB No. 0591, "Pre-Delivery (PDS) Information for RX 330."
- For 2005 model year RX 330 vehicles, refer to the following TSBs:

TSB2049 - Initialization of Power Window
TSB2051 - Initialization of Moonroof
9. Verify that the combination meter and air conditioning are functioning properly.
