February 24, 2006: The vehicle production dates and previous part numbers have been updated for the RX 330 and RX 400h in the Parts Information able. Previous versions of this TSIB should be discarded.
Introduction
Certain 2004 - 2006 model year RX 330 (Japan built) and 2006 model year RX 400h vehicles may experience insufficient support from the rear door stays. This condition may be misdiagnosed as an issue with the operation of the power back door motor (if equipped). The rear door stays have been improved to correct this condition.
NOTE: This TSIB is NOT to be confused with TSIB No. BO013-05, which refers to North American produced RX 330 vehicles.

2004 - 2006 model year RX 330 (Japan built) vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.
2006 model year RX 400h vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown.

This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Replace rear stay assemblies. To remove and replace the rear stay assemblies, refer to the Technical Information System (TIS):
