Introduction

Some vehicles in colder regions may exhibit a condition where the AFS (Adaptive Front Lighting System) indicator will initially flash when the vehicle is started. Inspect the left headlight assembly and secure the sub-harness as outlined in this TSIB.

^ 2006 model year NAP-built RX 330 vehicles with Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) produced WITHIN the applicable VIN ranges listed below.

Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure

1. Remove the left headlamp assembly. For removal procedure, refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), 2006 model year RX 330 Repair Manual: Lighting: Headlamp Assy





2. Inspect the sub-harness to verify the wire is secured in the clip.





3. Secure the sub-harness into place as necessary. If the harness is already clipped into place, diagnose per the Repair Manual.

4. Reassemble the headlamp assembly.


5. Verify that the AFS warning light does NOT stay illuminated with the ignition ON and that the codes stay cleared.
