Applicability

Introduction

Some 2004 - 2006 model year RX 330 and 2007 - 2009 model year RX 350 North American produced vehicles may exhibit an oil leak from the boots of the steering gear assembly. Follow the repair procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

Repair Procedure

1. Place the vehicle on a lift and confirm the leak is coming from the boots of the steering gear assembly.

2. Once the condition has been confirmed remove the steering rack.





Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model and model year Repair Manual.

3. Install the NEW steering rack.





Refer to TIS applicable model and model year Repair Manual.

4. Road test the vehicle to confirm that the oil leak is NO longer present and that the vehicle is aligned. Also verify that the steering wheel is centered and no other alignment or vehicle handling concerns are observed.
