Introduction
Some 2004 - 2007 model year LX 470 vehicles may experience a condition where the doors do not lock/unlock when using the wireless remotes or the interior power door lock switches. The manual lock/unlock will continue to operate. A separate door lock actuator assembly is now available to address this condition.

This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Required Tools & Equipment
Repair Procedure
1. Replace the door lock assembly. Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS):
^ 2004 or 2005 model year

2. Remove the protector.
A. Remove the screw.
B. Disengage the claw near the lever.
Bend the protector in the direction of the arrow and disengage the claw.
C. Disengage the claw and remove the protector.
3. Disconnect the inside locking cable. Remove the cable from the bracket and detach the cable from the lever.
NOTE:
Be careful NOT to bend the cable when removing.
4. Disassemble the actuator. Remove the 2 screws for the actuator and bracket.
5. Assemble the NEW actuator. Install the 2 screws for the actuator and bracket.
6. Connect the cable.
Remove the cable to the lever and insert the cap to the bracket.
NOTE:
Be careful NOT to bend the cable when installing.
7. Assemble the protector.
A. Put the rod through the protector.
B. Pull out the clip from the protector.
C. Fit the projection to the protector hole and fit the claw.
D. Set the claw into the protector. Bend the protector in the direction of the arrow and set the claw.
E. Tighten the screw.
8. Confirm the assembly is correctly installed.
A. Confirm the bracket claws are inserted correctly to the protector.
B. Confirm that the door lock latch center pin is inserted and can be seen through the protector hole.
9. Install the door lock assembly.

10. After installing the door lock assembly, confirm the following:
^ The Lock/Unlock function operates with the remote switch and interior switch.
^ The links and cable operate smoothly.
