Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Testing and Inspection

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT A/C PRESSURE SWITCH
a. Disconnect the connector from the A/C pressure sensor.

Inspect pressure switch operation.




b. Connect the three 1.5 V dry cell batterie's positive (+) lead to terminal 3 (+), and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (-). Then connect the voltmeter's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (PR), and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (-). Measure the voltage.

OK: The voltage changes according to refrigerant pressure, as given in the graph.

If the voltage is not as specified, replace the A/C pressure sensor.
