Introduction

Some 2007 model year RX 350 vehicle customers may experience a rattle condition from the moon roof, only when the moon roof glass is in the OPEN position. Perform the repair procedure in this TSIB to correct this condition.

^ 2007 model year RX 350 (NAP) vehicles.

This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure

For more information, refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), 2007 model year RX 350 Repair Manual, Vehicle Exterior - Sliding Roof/Convertible - "Sliding Roof: Sliding Roof Housing (For Standard): Removal" and "Sliding Roof: Sliding Roof Housing (For Standard): Installation".





1. Remove the sliding roof side garnish LH by using a taped screwdriver to disengage the clip.

2. Remove the sliding roof side garnish RH.





3. Using a Torx driver (T25), remove the 4 screws and sliding roof glass sub-assembly.





4. Adjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.

Bend the sliding roof glass sub-assembly mounting tabs inward 1.2 - 1.5 mm (0.047 - 0.059 in.).

NOTE:
Be careful when making this adjustment to ensure smooth operation of the sliding roof.





5. Using the Torx driver (T25), temporarily install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.





6. Adjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.

Check for a difference in levels between the sliding roof (roof glass) and roof panel.

7. Check for water leaks.

A. Adjusting the sliding roof, check that there is NO water leak.

B. If there are any leaks, readjust the sliding roof.

8. Engage the clip and reinstall the sliding roof side garnish LH.

9. Engage the clip and reinstall the sliding roof side garnish RH.

10. Re-initialize the moon roof.

Refer to PD007-06, "Initialization of Sliding Roof During PDS."

11. Operate the sliding roof several times to ensure smooth operation.
