Headlamp Washer Motor Relay: Testing and Inspection

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY

a. Inspect headlight cleaner control relay operation.




1. Check that no continuity exists between the terminal H1-2 (PB) and the terminal H1-5 (E).
2. Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to the terminal H1-1 (IG), and the negative (-) lead of the battery to the terminal H1-5 (E).
3. Connect the negative (-) lead of the battery to the terminal H1-3 (HDLO) and the terminal H1-4 (H), and check that continuity exists between the terminal H1-2 (PB) and the terminal H1-5 (E) for 0.8 to 0.9 seconds, then no continuity exists.
4. Disconnect the positive (+) lead of the battery from the terminal H1-1 (IG), and connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to the terminal H1-1 (IG) again.




5. Connect the negative (-) lead of the battery to the terminal H1-3 (HDLO) and the terminal H1- 6 (FRWA), and check that continuity exists between the terminal H1-2 (PB) and the terminal H1-5 (E) for 0.8 to 0.9 seconds, then no continuity exists.
