Safety Features
Passive SafetyThe utmost care has been taken in order to reduce the chance of injury.
Impact-absorbing Body
^ An impact absorbing body that effectively helps to absorb and distribute front, side and rear impacts to ease the effects on the driver and passengers has been adapted. A high strength body structure, to minimize deformation of the cabin itself, has also been adopted as a passive safety measure.
Frontal Collision
^ As well, the strong cabin frame eases the effects of the impact on the driver and passengers, and helps minimize deformation of the cabin.
^ The front bumper reinforcement is equipped with a crash box, designed so that repair costs will be lower in the event of a slight collision.
Rear Collision
^ In rear collisions as well, the structure effectively absorbs and distributes impact, softens the impact to passengers, and helps to minimize deformation of the cabin.
^ By separating the rear bumper reinforcement from the body, repair costs will be lower in the event of a slight collision.
SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) Airbag System
^ SRS airbags are standard equipment for the driver and front passenger seats. In the event of a severe frontal collision, the airbags function with the seat belts to help reduce the impact on the driver's and front passenger's head and chest.
^ SRS curtain shield airbags (front/No.1 rear seats) and SRS side airbags (driver/front passenger seats), which ease side impacts, are standard equipment.
^ Dual-stage SRS airbag system that optimally control the airbag inflating output by judging the extent of impact and driver's seat position has been adopted for the driver and front passenger airbags.
Seat Belt
^ Seat belts for the front seats are equipped with pretensioners, which snugly restrain the occupants at the time of a collision, and force limiters, which soften the impact to the chest from the seat belt itself.
Center Seat Belt of No.2 Rear Seat
The seat belt for the center seat can be disconnected by using the ignition key when folding, tumbling and removing No.2 rear seat in consideration for use of the luggage compartment. And it also can be stored in to the ceiling with its 2 tabs.
Head Impact Protection Structure
^ An emergency-absorbing construction has been provided in the interior garnishes to help minimize injury to the heads of the occupants in case secondary impact of the occupants against the cabin interior occurs during a collision.
