Introduction
Some 2005 - 2009 model year GX 470 vehicles may exhibit an SRS light "ON" condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B0111 and/or B0116. An updated wire harness is available to address this condition. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to replace the floor wire harness.
TSIB Overview
After confirming the vehicle condition matches this bulletin, this TSIB will direct you to replace the floor wire harness. In order to do this, it is necessary to first remove several major components, such as the instrument panel, front seats, headliner, and seat belts. This bulletin provides detailed instructions on the removal and installation of these components.

This TSIB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown below.
Warranty Information
APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Lexus Restraint System Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 72 months or 70,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Diagnostic Procedure
1. Inspect the floor wire harness and the center airbag sensor assembly following the diagnostic procedure in the Repair Manual.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model year GX 470 Repair Manual:
DTC B0111:
DTC B0116:
2. If NO concern is identified after inspecting the floor wire harness and the center airbag sensor assembly follow the Repair Procedure below to replace the corresponding floor wire harness.
Repair Procedure: Removal
1. Remove the front seat based on wire harness replacement:
^ DTC B0116: LH Side
^ DTC BO111: RH Side

NOTE
Move the front seat to the middle position prior to disconnecting the battery. This will allow easy access to the 4 seat mounting bolts.
2. Partially remove the instrument panel.
A. Remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
B. Remove the No. 2 console upper panel garnish by disengaging the 3 clips.
C. Remove the No. 1 console upper panel garnish by disengaging the 4 clips.
D. Remove the upper console panel assembly by disengaging the 11 clips then disconnect the connectors.
E. Remove the instrument panel garnish sub-assembly LH.
(1) Using a molding remover disengage the 7 clips as shown in Figure 4.
(2) Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument panel garnish sub-assembly LH.
F. Remove the instrument panel garnish sub-assembly RH.
G. Remove the lower center instrument cluster finish panel by disengaging the 5 clips then disconnect the connectors.
H. Remove the integration control and panel assembly.
Loosen the bolt and remove the 4 bolts 4 clips and the integration control and panel assembly.
I. Remove the console rear end panel sub-assembly by disengaging the 2 clips and the 5 claws then disconnect the connectors.
J. Remove the rear console box assembly by removing the 2 bolts and 2 screws.
K. Remove the front No.2 console box insert.
(1) Disengage the 2 claws.
(2) Pull the front No.2 console box insert towards the rear of the vehicle to remove it.
L. Remove the console box insert.
M. Remove the front console upper panel garnish by disengaging the 5 clips then disconnect the connectors.
N. Remove the lower console box by removing the 2 bolts and 2 screws.
3. Remove the headliner.

4. Remove the rear air conditioning unit.

LH Wire Harness ONLY (steps 5 - 7):
5. Disconnect the fuel pump assembly.
A. Remove the rear No.1 seat assembly LH.
(1) Remove the headrest.
(2) Tumble the seat.
(3) Disengage the claws remove the rear seat cushion hinge covers No.2 LH and RH.
(4) Set the rear seat to the floor.
(5) Disengage the claws remove the rear seat cushion hinge covers No.3 LH and RH.
(6) Tumble the seat.
(7) Remove the 3 bolts nut and the seat.
B. Remove the rear No. 1 floor step cover.
C. Remove the quarter scuff plate inside LH by removing the 2 bolts.
D. Remove the rear door scuff plate LH.
E. Remove the rear floor service hole cover.
(1) Remove the rear floor carpet assembly.
(2) Remove the 3 screws and the rear floor service hole cover.
(3) Disconnect the connector.
6. Disconnect the rear combination light assembly.

7. Remove the spare tire.
NOTE
This will allow access to the charcoal canister connectors.
8. Remove the floor wire harness.
Repair Procedure: Installation
NOTE
Installation is in the reverse order of removal. Only key points are mentioned below.
1. Install the NEW floor wire harness.
2. Install the rear cooling unit.

4. Install the front seat assembly.
Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft*lbf)
5. RH seat ONLY:
Initialize the Occupant Classification System.
Refer to TIS applicable model year GX 470 Repair Manual:
6. Clear DTCs.
7. Initialize power systems (windows moonroof etc.).
