DTC C2172/72 - Transmitter ID not Registered in 2nd Mode

DESCRIPTION

Each tire pressure warning valve and transmitter ID is registered to the tire pressure warning ECU. When the ECU detects an ID that is not the one of registered IDs, or cannot receive a registered ID signal, a DTC is set.






INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
- If any IDs are not registered for the "2nd" position of the tire pressure warning select switch, DTC C2172/72 will be set after switching the select switch to the "2nd" position.
- When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU, read the IDs stored in the ECU using the intelligent tester. Note the IDs before ECU removal.
- After the tire pressure warning ECU has been replaced, it is necessary to register the transmitter IDs. Initialization
After registration has been completed, it is necessary to perform initialization. Registration

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC
(a) Check for a DTC .
Result:






A -- PERFORM REGISTRATION (TRANSMITTER ID)
B -- Continue to next step.
2. SWITCH TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SELECT SWITCH TO MAIN
(a) Switch the tire pressure warning select switch to the other position (2nd to MAIN position).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK DTC
(a) Check for a DTC .

B -- REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU
A -- Continue to next step.
4. PERFORM REGISTRATION (TRANSMITTER ID)
(a) Perform registration .
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization .
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK DTC
(a) Check for a DTC .
