INTRODUCTION:
The purpose of this bulletin is to provide specific details regarding the proper lubrication and installation practices for the rear caliper slide pins.

REQUIRED TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

SERVICE TIPS:






1. Rear Caliper Slide Pin and Slide Pin No. 2 Identification
Slide Pin:
- Shorter length bolt head
- Slightly larger bolt shank diameter
- Solid bolt with 3 flat surfaces on bolt shank
- Bolt head marked with lower case letter "g "

Slide Pin No. 2:






- Rubber bushing at end of bolt
- Smaller diameter bolt shank
- Longer length bolt head
- Bolt head marked with lower case cursive letter "L"

2. Rear Caliper Slide Pin Installation














A. When reinstalling rear caliper slide pins, apply only a small amount of lithium base grease to the bolt shank surface of the pins.

NOTICE
To avoid damage, do NOT apply grease in the slide pin holes.







B. Install the slide pin into the upper position of the caliper and slide pin No. 2 in the lower position of the caliper.

NOTICE
- To avoid damage, do NOT insert the slide pin into the slide pin No. 2 location.
- The slide pin and slide pin No. 2 are NOT interchangeable.


3. Final Check
Make sure the left rear and right rear rotors turn easily and exhibit no drag after installation.
