INTRODUCTION:
Some customers may complain of a rattle or rubbing noise coming from the top rear corner of the driver's door. Follow the repair procedure in this bulletin to resolve this condition.
APPLICABILITY:
PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown.
WARRANTY INFORMATION:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Confirm rattle/rubbing noise is coming from the upper door frame area.
A. If noise is present, proceed to step 2 of the repair procedure.
B. If no noise is present, stop. If the source of the noise is coming from a different location, this TSB does not apply.
2. Repair the rattle/rubbing noise by adjusting the door frame inward in 0.5mm increments until the noise stops.
A. Close the driver's door and open the rear door.
B. With a straight edge, measure the distance between the "B" Pillar and the edge of the door approximately 25mm down from the top of the door.
C. Mark the measurement on the straight edge with a piece of tape for a point of reference.
D. Open and secure the driver's door.
NOTE
Lower window before adjustment is made.
E. Apply inward pressure to the top rear corner of the door frame.
3. Close the door and check that the door frame moved inward 0.5mm.
4. Test drive the vehicle to ensure the noise is no longer present.
NOTE
If the rattle/rubbing noise can still be heard, repeat steps D-E.
