INTRODUCTION:
As a result of the removal of the Short Pin, the "automatic open and close" and "jam protection" functions of the power back door will be inoperative due to loss of the power back door position memory stored in the microcomputer.
When the Short Pin is reinstalled, the body ECU is initialized. The power back door will be automatically locked and will not open. It is necessary to unlock the power back door using the door control switch or transmitter switch.
Initialize the power back door after installing the Short Pin into its original location during Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) at the dealership.
NOTE:
Any time the battery terminal has been disconnected, the power back door must be re-initialized.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2008 model year RX 350 vehicles.

INITIALIZATION PROCEDURES:
1. Fully open and close the power back door by hand.
A. Unlock the power back door using the unlock button on the transmitter switch or the door control switch.
B. Check that the power back door off switch is in the "ON" position.
C. Fully open and fully close the power back door by pushing the power back door switch (open/close) or the "PWR DOOR" button briefly on the transmitter switch.
NOTE:
Jam protection function is enabled through the above initialization procedure.
