DTC C1787/87 - Absorber Control Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The absorber control switch is integrated in the suspension control switch.
The absorber control switch is used to select the damping force mode of the shock absorber.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Start the inspection from step 1 when using the Techstream, and start from step 2 when not using the Techstream.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING DATA LIST
(a) Connect the Techstream to DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON and the Techstream on.
(c) Select the item "Damping Force Switch 1" in the Data List, and read its value displayed on the Techstream.
(d) Check that the acceleration value of the acceleration sensor displayed in the Techstream changes when the vehicle is bounced.
Standard:
Suspension control switch value changes.
OK -- CHECK AND REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT ABSORBER CONTROL SWITCH




(a) Disconnect the absorber control switch connector.
(b) Check the continuity between each terminal of the absorber control at each switch position.
Standard:





HINT: When the absorber control switch is faulty, replace the suspension control switch.

NG -- REPLACE ABSORBER CONTROL SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ABSORBER CONTROL SWITCH - SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU)
(a) Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between the absorber control switch and the suspension control ECU Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- CHECK AND REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU
