DTC 3-2 - Cellular Phone Antenna Error

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when one of the following occurs: 1) the mayday ECU assembly is malfunctioning; 2) the telephone antenna (cellular phone antenna) is malfunctioning; or 3) the wire harness between the mayday ECU assembly and the telephone antenna is open or short.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT TELEPHONE ANTENNA




(a) Disconnect the antenna connector from the ECU.
(b) Measure the resistance of the antenna.
Standard resistance:






OK -- REPLACE MAYDAY ECU ASSEMBLY
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAYDAY ECU ASSEMBLY - TELEPHONE ANTENNA)




(a) Disconnect the M18 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the T22 antenna connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. REPLACE MAYDAY ECU ASSEMBLY
(a) Temporarily replace the mayday ECU Removal and mayday battery Removal with a new one.
(b) Check for DTC again.
OK:
System operates normally (red LED off).
NG:
Current DTC 3-2 exists
NOTE:
If replacement of the ECU is necessary, replace the mayday battery (backup battery) together with the ECU. After the replacement, register the ECU Programming and Relearning.

OK -- END
NG -- REPLACE TELEPHONE ANTENNA
