Applicability

Introduction

As a result of the removal of the Short Pin, the "one-touch open and close" (AUTO) and "jam protection" functions for each door's power window may become inoperative due to loss of the window position memory stored in the microcomputer.

Initialize each door's "one-touch" power window after installing the Short Pin in its original location during Pre-Delivery Service (PDS).

Anytime the battery terminal has been disconnected, each door's power window MUST be re-initialized.

Initialization Procedure

1. Check that the Short Pin is installed in its original location. (Refer to TSIB No. "Short Pin Installation During PDS:')

2. Turn the ignition to the "IG-ON" position.

NOTE

At this time, the power window switch for each door's window should be blinking.

3. Push "DOWN" and hold the driver's door power window switch to completely open the window.

4. Pull "UP" and hold the driver's door power window switch until the window closes. Continue holding the switch stops blinking and remains illuminated.

5. Check for proper operation of the "one-touch open and close" function by fully pushing the switch to the "DOWN" and "UP" positions.

NOTE

Jam protection function becomes effective through the above initialization procedure.

6. Repeat the above procedure on each door's power window switch.
