All Door Entry Lock/Unlock Functions Do Not Operate, But Wireless Functions Operate
THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (for Entry Function): All Door Entry Lock/Unlock Functions do not Operate, but Wireless Functions Operate
All Door Entry Lock/Unlock Functions do not Operate, but Wireless Functions Operate
DESCRIPTION
When the wireless operation can be used to lock and unlock the doors, the communication line between the door control receiver and certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is normal. When the entry operation does not operate, one of the following may be the cause: 1) entry cancel function is set through customization; 2) malfunction in smart access system with push-button start communication line (electrical key transmitter and vehicle); or 3) wave interference.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Before performing the inspection, check that there are no problems related to the "Can Communication System" and "LIN Communication System"
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (AUTO ENTRY CANCEL SW)
(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.
Smart Access
Result
B -- PERFORM CANCELLATION OF ENTRY KEY CANCEL FUNCTION
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT
(a) Move the electrical key transmitter as described below and perform the operation inspection Smart Access System With Push-Button Start (for Entry Function).
HINT:
- When the electrical key transmitter is brought near the door outside handle or electrical key antenna, the possibility of wave interference decreases, and it can be determined if wave interference is causing the problem symptom.
- The transmitting wave of the wireless function and entry function are the same, but the wave logic is different. As a result, it is possible that only the wireless function or only the entry function is affected by wave interference.
(1) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the door outside handle (for driver side), and perform a driver door entry lock and unlock operation check.
NOTE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.) of the door handle, communication may not be possible.
(2) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the door outside handle (for front passenger side), and perform a front passenger door entry lock and unlock operation check.
NOTE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.) of the door handle, communication may not be possible.
(3) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the rear door outside handle LH, and perform a rear left door entry lock and unlock operation check.
NOTE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.) of the door handle, communication may not be possible.
(4) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the rear door outside handle RH, and perform a rear right door entry lock and unlock operation check.
NOTE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.) of the door handle, communication may not be possible.
(5) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key antenna (in center console), and perform an engine start check.
NOTE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.) of the center console, communication may not be possible.
(6) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key antenna (in rear No. 1 seat cushion), and perform an engine start check.
NOTE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.) of the rear No. 1 seat cushion, communication may not be possible.
(7) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key antenna (in rear No. 2 seat cushion), and perform an engine start check.
NOTE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.) of the rear No. 2 seat cushion, communication may not be possible.
(8) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the electrical key antenna (in rear bumper), and perform an entry back door open function check.
NOTE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.) of the rear bumper, communication may not be possible.
HINT: If the inspection result is that the problem only occurs in certain locations or times of day, the possibility of wave interference is high. Also, added vehicle components may cause wave interference. If installed, remove them and perform the operation check.
B -- AFFECTED BY WAVE INTERFERENCE
A -- Continue to next step.
