B2090 - Driving Support System Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt control ECU receives collision information from the driving support ECU and skid control ECU via CAN communication and tightens the seat belt by operating the motor inside the front seat outer belt.

When the driving support ECU detects a malfunction in the dynamic radar cruise control system or pre-collision system (Pre-Collision 2), the malfunction information is sent to the seat belt control ECU, which stores this DTC.

When DTC B2090 is stored, other DTCs stored by the driving support ECU (dynamic radar cruise control system, lane departure alert system* and Pre-Collision 2) are also stored.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT
* w/ Lane Departure Alert System:
If the lane recognition camera sensor assembly is replaced with a new one and the adjustment of the lane recognition camera sensor assembly has not been performed, DTC B2090 is output.
* When clearing the DTCs, first clear the DTCs output from the driving support ECU, and then clear the DTCs output from the seat belt control ECU.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC (DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM)

(a) Check for DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.

OK:

Dynamic radar cruise control system DTCs are not output.

4. CHECK FOR DTC (LANE DEPARTURE ALERT SYSTEM)

(a) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

Lane departure alert system DTCs are not output.

NG -- GO TO LANE DEPARTURE ALERT SYSTEM Lane Departure Alert System
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK FOR DTC (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM)

(a) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System.

OK:

6. ADJUST LANE RECOGNITION CAMERA SENSOR ASSEMBLY
