B2603 - Tilt and Telescopic Manual Switch Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

Different voltage values are input to the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU by operating the tilt and telescopic switch. The multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU then judges which motor and in which direction that motor should be moved based on the voltage value.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TILT UP/DOWN SWITCH, TELESCO SHORT/LONG SWITCH)

(a) Use the Data List to check if the tilt and telescopic switch is functioning properly.

OK:

"ON" is displayed on the Techstream screen for each switch that is turned on.

"OFF" is displayed on the Techstream screen for each switch that is turned off.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU - HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CONFIRM DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column System.

(b) Check for DTCs Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column System.

A -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU Removal

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU - HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH)

(a) Disconnect the G33 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the G31 headlight dimmer switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU (VC TERMINAL VOLTAGE)

(a) Reconnect the G33 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

5. CHECK TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH

(a) Remove the tilt and telescopic switch Removal.
