B2651 - Reclining Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

When the front power seat switch does not receive a sensor signal despite forward or backward movement of the seatback by power seat motor operation, this DTC is stored.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (POWER SEAT MOTOR FUNCTION)

(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the power seat motor function Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

Driver Seat





OK:

Motor operates normally.

NG -- INSPECT SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY LH (RECLINING MOTOR)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (RECLINING MOTOR CIRCUIT)

(a) Disconnect the f3 motor connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY LH (RECLINING MOTOR)

(a) Connect the f3 motor connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH - RECLINING MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the b5 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the f3 motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH Disassembly

5. INSPECT SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY LH (RECLINING MOTOR)

(a) Remove the separate type front seatback spring assembly LH (reclining motor) Disassembly.





(b) Check if the seatback moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the reclining motor connector terminals.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY LH (RECLINING MOTOR) Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH - RECLINING MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the b4 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the f3 motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
