C1A14 - Front Radar Sensor Beam Axis Not Adjusted

DESCRIPTION

The driving support ECU uses the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly, lane recognition camera sensor assembly*1 and driver monitor camera*2 to detect obstacles in front of the vehicle and the direction that the driver head is facing. Based on this information, the driving support ECU sends pre-collision control operation signals.

When the vehicle is determined to be driving in a straight line or on a gradual curve based on signals from the yaw rate sensor, etc., the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly performs a self-diagnosis to check if the sensor beam axis is deviated from the direction that the vehicle is moving. When the beam axis of millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is deviated, the driving support ECU detects this and stores DTC C1A11.

After installing a new millimeter wave radar sensor assembly, if the sensor beam axis adjustment is not performed, DTC C1A14 is stored.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly installation Installation.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. ADJUST MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Adjust the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly Adjustments.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.

(b) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System.

OK:

DTC C1A11 or C1A14 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY

OK -- END

4. REPLACE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

5. ADJUST MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Adjust the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly Adjustments.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.

(b) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System.

OK:

DTC C1A11 or C1A14 is not output.

HINT
After performing the radar beam axis adjustment, if the same DTC is output again after the DTC detection conditions are met, replace the driving support ECU.

NG -- REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU Removal
