P1631 - Communication Error from ECM to VSC
DESCRIPTION
The ECM is the only component that has a function to store and output DTCs in the dynamic radar cruise control system. Therefore, if the skid control ECU detects a communication error from the ECM, it sends a malfunction signal back to the ECM.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
When the ECM is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed Programming and Relearning.
PROCEDURE
1. REPLACE ECM
(a) Replace the ECM Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
(b) Perform the following to make sure the DTC detection conditions are met.
HINT

(1) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) or more.
(2) Turn the cruise control switch on.
(c) Check for DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
OK:
DTC P1631 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID (SKID CONTROL ECU) Disassembly
OK -- END (ECM IS DEFECTIVE)
