B1695/16 - Door Side Airbag Sensor LH Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The side collision sensor LH circuit (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag assembly LH, rear seat side airbag assembly LH and curtain shield airbag assembly LH) is composed of the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor LH (for rear side), rear airbag sensor LH and side airbag sensor LH (for front side).
The side airbag sensor LH (for front side) detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the center airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.
DTC B1695/16 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the side airbag sensor LH (for front side).

PROCEDURE
1. CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH (FOR FRONT SIDE)
(a) Turn the engine switch off.
(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
NOTICE:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
(c) Interchange the side airbag sensor RH (for front side) with side airbag sensor LH (for front side) and connect the connectors.
(d) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
(e) Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(f) Clear the DTCs stored in the memory Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(g) Turn the engine switch off.
(h) Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(i) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
