Diagnostic Procedure Using LEXUS Hand Held Tester

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE USING LEXUS HAND HELD TESTER





NOTE: If Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0110, P0115 and P0120 are output simultaneously, E2 (sensor ground) may be open.

1. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester and read the throttle valve opening percentage.
- If not OK proceed to step 2.
- If OK check for intermittent problems.
2. Read closed throttle position switch condition.
- If not OK proceed to step 3.
- If OK proceed to step 5.
3. Check voltage of terminal VC.
- If OK proceed to step 4.
If not OK proceed to step 6
4. Check Throttle Position Sensor.
- If OK proceed to step 5.
If not OK replace Throttle Position Sensor.
5. Check voltage of terminal VTA and E2 of Engine Control Module.
- If OK check and replace Engine Control Module.
- If not OK check for open and short in harness and connector between Engine Control Module and Throttle Position Sensor (VTA line).
6. Check voltage of terminal VC and E2 of Engine Control Module.
- If OK check for open in harness and connector between Engine Control Module and sensor (VC line).
- If not OK check and replace Engine Control Module.
