Diagnostic Procedure Using OBDII Scan Tool

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE USING OBDII SCAN TOOL





1. Connect the OBDII scan tool and read the throttle valve opening percentage.
- If not OK proceed to step 2.
- If OK check for intermittent problems.
2. Check voltage of terminal IDL and E2 of Engine Control Module.
- If not OK proceed to step 3.
- If OK proceed to step 5.
3. Check voltage of terminal VC on wire harness side connector.
- If OK proceed to step 4.
- If not OK proceed to step 6.
4. Check Throttle Position Sensor.
- If OK proceed to step 5.
- If not OK replace Throttle Position Sensor.
5. Check voltage of terminal VTA and E2 of Engine Control Module.
- If OK check and replace Engine Control Module.
- If not OK check for open and short in harness and connector between Engine Control Module and Throttle Position Sensor (VTA line).
6. Check voltage of terminal VC and E2 of Engine Control Module.
- If OK check for open in harness and connector between Engine Control Module and sensor (VC line).
