Inspection Procedure

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. Check the output voltage of Heated Oxygen Sensor (bank 1 sensor 2).
- If NO proceed to step 2.
- If YES go to relevant Diagnostic Trouble Code chart.
2. Check for open and short in harness and connector between Engine Control Module and Heated Oxygen Sensor
- If OK proceed to step 3.
- If not OK repair or replace harness or connector.
3. Check the output voltage of Heated Oxygen Sensor (bank 1 sensor 2).
- Remove the fuse cover on the instrument panel.





- Connect the OBDII scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester to the Data Link Connector 3.
- After warming up the engine, race the engine at 2,500 rpm for 3 minutes.
- Read the output voltage of Heated Oxygen Sensor (bank 1 sensor 2) when racing the engine after 3 minutes have elapsed.

Heated Oxygen Sensor output voltage: alternates from 0.4 volts or less to 0.5 volts or more.

- If OK check that each connector is properly connected.
- If not OK replace Heated Oxygen Sensor.
