Inspection Procedure Using LEXUS Hand Held Tester

INSPECTION PROCEDURE USING LEXUS HAND HELD TESTER

NOTE: If Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0110, P0115 and P0120 are output simultaneously, E2 (sensor ground) may be open.

1. Check for open in harness or Engine Control Module.
- Remove the fuse cover on the instrument panel.
- Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the Data Link Connector 3.





- Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector. Connect sensor wire harness terminals between terminals 1 and 2. Turn Ignition Switch ON.
- Read CTP switch signal on the LEXUS hand-held tester.

Closed Throttle Position Switch signal: ON

- If not OK proceed to step 2.
- If OK confirm good connection at sensor. If OK, replace Throttle Position Sensor.
2. Check for open in harness or Engine Control Module.
- Remove glove compartment.





- Connect between terminals IDL and E2 of Engine Control Module connectors.

NOTE: Throttle position sensor connector is disconnected. Before checking, do a visual check and contact pressure check for the connector.

- Turn ignition switch ON. Read closed throttle position switch signal on the LEXUS hand-held tester.

Closed Throttle Position Switch signal: ON

- If OK open in harness between Engine Control Module and Throttle Position Sensor, repair or replace harness.
- If not OK confirm connection at Engine Control Module. If OK, replace Engine Control Module.
