Resistance/Operation Inspection

PROCEDURE

Operational Inspection





1. Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from battery.

CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

2. Remove V-bank cover.





- Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 cap nuts and V-bank cover.
3. Inspect injector operation check operation sound from each injector.





- With the engine running or cranking, use a sound scope to check that there is normal operating noise in proportion to engine speed.





- If you have no sound scope. you can check the injector operating vibration with your finger.

- If no sound or unusual sound is heard, check the wiring connector, injector or injection signal from the ECM.

Resistance Inspection

1. Disconnect the injector connector.





2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

Resistance: Approximately 13.8 Ohms at 20°C (68°F)

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the injector.

3. Reconnect the injector connector.
4. Reinstall V-bank cover.





- Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, install the V-bank cover with the 2 cap nuts.

NOTE: When installing the V-bank cover, push on the cover until a "click" is felt.

5. Reconnect negative (-) terminal cable to battery.
