Removal
PROCEDURE1. Disconnect Negative (-) Terminal Cable From Battery.
CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
2. Drain Engine Coolant.
3. Disconnect Accelerator Cable.
4. Disconnect Throttle Cable.
5. Remove air cleaner hose.
- Disconnect the Positive Crankcase Ventilation hose.
- Loosen the 2 hose clamps and remove the air cleaner hose.
6. Remove Throttle Body.
- Disconnect the Throttle Position Senser connector. (a)
- Disconnect the Idle Air Control Valve connector. (b)
- Remove the hose clamp. (c)
- Disconnect the following vacuum hoses:
- Vacuum hose (from charcoal canister) (1).
- Vacuum hose (from port R of Exhaust Gas Recirculation Vacuum Modulator). (2)
- Vacuum hose (from port E of Exhaust Gas Recirculation Vacuum Modulator). (3)
- Vacuum hose (from upper port of Thermal Vacuum Valve). (4)
- Vacuum hose (from lower port of Thermal Vacuum Valve). (5)
- Disconnect the following hoses:
- Water bypass hose (from intake manifold). (1)
- Water bypass hose (from water inlet housing). (2)
- Air assist hose. (3)
- Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, Exhaust Gas Recirculation Gas Temperature Sensor bracket, and Throttle Body and gasket.
