Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Testing and Inspection

PROCEDURE








1. Inspect the Intake Air Temperature Sensor resistance using an ohmmeter.
- Disconnect the Mass Air Flow Meter (MAF) Meter connector.
- Measure the resistance between terminals THA and E2.

Resistance:

at -20°C (-4°F): 10 - 20 k ohms
at 0°C (32°F): 4 - 7 k ohms
at 20°C (68°F): 2 - 3 k ohms
at 40°C(104°F): 0.9 - 1.3 k ohms
at 60°C (140°F): 0.4 - 0.7 k ohms

- If the resistance is not as specified. replace the MAF meter.
