Valve Body Disassembly
After removing valve body from transmission, use this procedure to install the modified secondary regulator valve.VALVE BODY DISASSEMBLY
NOTE:
When disassembling the valve body, be careful not to damage or deform the plate.
1. REMOVE SOLENOIDS
NOTE:
When removing the solenoid, do not use a screwdriver, etc. to pry up the solenoid.
(a) Remove No. 1 and No. 2
solenoids see Figure 1.
(b) Remove the 0-ring from each solenoid.
(c) Remove the lockup solenoid.
(d) Remove the 0-ring from the lockup solenoid see Figure 2. Each bolt length mm (in.) is indicated in Figure 1,2 & 3.
2. REMOVE BO ACCUMULATOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the two bolts.
(b) Remove the BO accumulator assembly.
(c) Remove the check ball on No. 1 plate see Figure 3.
3. REMOVE UPPER AND BODY COVER
Remove the eleven bolts and upper and body cover.
NOTE:
Each bolt length mm (in.) is indicated in Figure 4.
4. REMOVE OIL STRAINER, UPPER VALVE BODY COVER GASKETS AND PLATE
(a) Remove the oil strainer on the gasket.
(b) Remove the two gaskets and plate from the upper valve body see Figure 5.
5. REMOVE Lockup RELAY VALVE SLEEVE STOPPER.
6. REMOVE LOWER VALVE BODY COVER. Remove the twelve bolts and lower valve body cover.
NOTE:
Each bolt length mm (in.) is indicated in Figure 7.
7. REMOVE LOWER VALVE BODY COVER GASKETS AND NO.2 PLATE.
8. REMOVE CHECK BALLS. Remove the two checks balls from the lower valve body as shown in Figure 9.
9. REMOVE BOLT FROM THE LOWER VALVE BODY.
10. REMOVE BOLTS FROM UPPER VALVE BODY. Remove the three bolts.
NOTE:
Each bolt length (mm, in.) is indicated in the Figure 11.
11. LIFT OFF UPPER VALVE BODY AND NO.1 PLATE AS A SINGLE UNIT. Hold upper valve body, No. 1 plate and gaskets together while separating from the lower valve body.
CAUTION:
Be careful that the check balls and oil strainer do not fall out.
12. SECONDARY REGULATOR VALVE REMOVAL.
(a) Remove the three check balls.
(b) Remove retainer "b."
(c) Remove secondary regulator end plug and valve.
(d) Remove pressure relief valve spring.
(e) Remove check valve spring.
